About Us: 
Iowa Operating Engineers Apprenticeship and Training program is an organized 6,000 hour on-the-job earn while you learn program coupled with course studies related to the trade. Apprentices learn under the supervision of skilled journeypersons to operate and maintain construction equipment such as dozers, back-hoes, cranes, and other construction equipment. Basic qualifications for the program are to be at least 18 years of age, provide a high school diploma or GED, and maybe subject to drug and alcohol testing.
