Statewide Community & Education Veteran Resources by County
Click on any county below to view the list of statewide and local veteran resources available. Iowa counties and cities can also earn the Home Base Iowa (HBI) community designation by passing a resolution of support and meeting other requirements which includes a community point of contact. Each HBI community includes a downloadable PDF which highlight the state and local incentives.
Certified Higher Academic Military Partners (CHAMPs) offer premium higher education incentives to veterans and their families. Participating CHAMPs schools are committed to assisting veterans and their family members as they continue their education. Learn more about all the resources which are available in every Iowa county. The Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs, Iowa National Guard, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Iowa Workforce Development veteran services and the American Legion all play a role in assisting veterans and transitioning service members.
